Sunday Drive

We got up early yesterday and went for a drive
 before it got too hot.
Mom & Dad are on vacation this week and they wanted to look for a new place to go camping

Bailey says come on! I am ready to go!

I like to be the navigator

Are we there yet????

Once we got into the forest
we saw some deer!

there was two of them

but they ran up the hill away from us

A little further we saw a buck,
his horns just growing in velvet
Dad stopped the truck so mom could get a picture
but he got behind some trees and did not come out

It sure seemed like a long drive
and we didn't find any good camping places.

Not even any good places to stop
and get out and explore a little

On the way home we took a potty break
at a rest stop off the interstate
We were soo disgusted at the condition of the pet area
It was dry dead grass and poop was everywhere
you could hardly walk around.
THE worst rest stop pet area we have experienced.
Mom wished she had some of OZ's scoop your poop signs
Then to make matters worse,
later in the evening Mom found a wood tick on herself!!
Freaked Mom out!
Dad thinks she must have picked it up at the yucky rest stop
We only stopped one other place and that was as we were going up into the forest where it was shaded and cool.
Good thing we had our flea and tick stuff for when we
do go camping, mom & dad want us to be protected.

We are gonna lay low today
It is supposed to get to 99 degrees!

We are the PugRanch Kids
Bailey, Hazel & Greta

  6. Well, at least it was a pretty drive, but YUCK about the tick! That gives me massive heebie jeebies. And isn't it so annoying when people don't pick up after their dogs?! People can be so lazy and irresponsible. Hope you find a shady spot to hang out! 99 is way too hot for us!

  8. Bailey we bet you are a better navigator than the Garmin my peeps used to have. It gave nutty directions and Dad argued with it all the time. MOL Ticks are scary...thank goodness your mom found it. What a shame on the pet rest area. The pet peeps were very irresponsible not to clean up.
99 in I da Ho is dang hot. It is supposed to be 96 here in Dixie with high humidity too

  12. YUCK! We have seen some really bad pet areas too. If only people would be responsible then maybe we could get something nice! We are hot here too, 100 degrees for today. Me and Stanley are sweating our paws off!

  13. We can never understand why people want to have facilities and then don't take care of them. Yuck.

We're sure you'll find a perfect camping place sometime.

  19. Hi Hazel, Greta and Bailey,
I'm sorry that your trip wasnt the best but it looked like a lot of fun, even the horrible days can be funny when you look back on them, I'm sorry to hear about your Momma getting a tick and that the poop area was indeed totally S**T and coverd in it too! BOL!
Thank you for your kind words to my Bionic Ernie, the lumpies have been removed from his tail and he is doing well, he was told by the VET not to wag his tail (How can he stop???) we will hear in 7-10 days what the lumpie bumpies are, so we still have our fingers crossed!
Love, Licks and hugs from Frank xxxxxx

  20. OH wow that sounds like quite a trip. So sorry there wasn't a more pet friendly rest stop, sounds perfectly yucky. And a tick is scary. I just pulled one off my daughter's head (ahhh) the other day and it has me very upset! Hope the next trip is a bit better!

  21. Well maybe instead of taking the interstate you should take the road less traveled. Yep Lee and I try to do that, go where no dog has gone before. I have hope that you will find the right camping spot.
    Thanks for being a friend

  22. Oh that's bad that there was no place for camping and not even the dog area was a good place. I'm glad no one of your peeps got "decorated" shoes and I hope all is ok with your mom after she removed that evil tick. Now the tick has to walk the whole way back on his feet, that's a fair punishment for attacking your mom!

  23. Those deer are amazing. But, sorry to hear your potential day of adventure turned out to be a bit of a bust. Sounds like your mom might need some Advantage to keep the ticks away! :)

    Sid.
