Mom's research indicates that I need to be eating foods and treats that are low in carbohydrates
Carbs can contribute to yeast growth and mites like to feed on yeast. Based on the product description,
EVO Wild Cravings Herring Formula Dog treats fit that bill as they are high in protein and low in carbohydrates.

Key Benefits
  • High-quality herring helps maintain lean muscle mas
  • No grains, no potatoes & no gluten added to maximize protein concentration while limiting carbohydrates
  • Made with highly-digestible ingredients
  • Excellent palatability

They were a little bigger than we expected
but still an OK size.
They are a crunchy treat - easy crunch, not hard
we like our crunchy treats to be small
so Mom breaks them up for us

They break very easily but do crumble a bit

When reading reviews, some complained about the smell
They do have a fishy odor but it is not overpowering to Mom's sensitive nose.

All three of us had to sniff a second before we first tried them, but we decided they taste pretty good.
The only downside is the crumbliness when Mom breaks them up

Whatcha waiting for Mom?
Give us one of those treats.

I am sure you could deal with the crumbs just as readily as the bigger crunchies!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  3. I have had those treats before and I liked them. I like most fishy treats even if Ma says they are stinky. The stinkier the better, I say. Glad you like them and sorry they are crumbly.

  7. Well it is nice to know that they break easily. I got these treats once that Lee felt were to big and the only way she could break the was with a hammer. But you know my teeth had no problem. Your EVO fishy sound good.
    Thanks for being a friend

I am not a big fish pug, either - especially if it smells too fishy. I have been known to consume it now and then, though. These look like they are worth a try.
Thanks for a good insightful review.

  12. We do love most any kind of fish. Mom is a little sensitive to fishy smells too but they don't bother us at all. Thanks for the review - gives us an idea for something new to try.

  18. Those treats look pawsome. Thats nice your mom broke up your treat so small fur you. Our mommy is such a wimp that she has to wrap up our treats in cloth the she uses a hammer to break them up cause she cant break the with her hands! If the incredible hulk is single, he would be the pawfect man fur our mommy. Lol.
