FFHT - Earl's Big Adventure

Hey Friends!
I want to tell you all about my trip to California.
There are a lot of pictures so you might want to potty first and maybe grab a snack!

It all started early last Friday morning

Dad dropped me and Mom at the Pocatello Airport
I was sooo excited to fly in an airplane!!!!

It was short flight to Salt Lake City, UT
where we boarded a bigger plane that would take us
to San Jose, California

We had a window seat
OMD!

Look at the view from 30000 ft!

Other family members arrived from Washington, Colorado and Mom's daughter was there too

Saturday we decided to visit
the

You can click on the link to read about the weird house that that Sarah Winchester built

Here we are ready for our tour of the mansion

Unfortunately we could not take pictures inside the house

this old piano was in the gift shop

And I got my fortune told by this creepy lady

There were some neat trees on the grounds

This huge palm tree

And I got to climb on this cool looking tree!

Goodbye Winchester House!

Back at the house Mom's sister fixed a delicious dinner

and for dessert .....Chocolate Souffle

When it came out of the oven
It Smelled like - Heaven!

Then came Sunday -

Mom's Dad loved trains - when he passed away in 1999
the family honored him by taking a ride on the

15 years later the family gathered again for another ride

to remember Mom's stepmother who passed away Mar 1st.

this nice guy was our cab attendant, Matt

He sang us a railroad song as we headed down the track in the caboose we had reserved just for us

Chug - Chug here we go!

The best view was from up in the cupola

Look how far I can see!

Toot-toot! Whoosh!
there goes the steam!

The recipe books were a big hit!

It was a beautiful day spent with family

then before we knew it

it was time to head home.

Chewy Review Time

Last week we got

not one!

butt two boxes from our friends at Chewy

The big box had a bag of food for us
and
a new crate pad for Me!

The other box came from the nice
Ms. Sydney with our fun stuff to review!
She not only sent us the new furminator dual brush
to try out but also some yummy treats

We chose Liver Recipe Low Fat Dog Treats
made by Fromm

These treats are perfect bite size for a pug
and Mom likes that they are lightly crunchy so they can
go in our treat container in the kitchen and she doesn't have to worry about them drying out
and they are great in a pocket  - no staining.

Made in the USA
they have only four ingredients,
Wheat flour, fresh chicken liver, salt, garlic powder.
and one calorie per treat
We think they are pawsitively yummy!

Now some of you know that pugs
SHED A LOT!!

Mom was anxious to try the new furminator brush to see how it would work on our furs
The brush has two sides, bristles and "pins"
Mom liked the easy grip handle, but the cover was useless, it would not stay snapped together.

I found the bristle side of the brush kinda relaxing and it made my furs look shiny!

Then Mom tried the "pin" side on Bailey,
who is shedding horribly right now
Unfortunately the brush did not do much to get out the shedding hair. We have short coats and it did not grab the hairs like the regular furminator does.

Mom wasn't done testing though.
When our cousin Willow came over for our weekly playdate, Mom tried the brush on her.
She is a mini-schnauzer
The pin side worked very nicely getting through her longer furs on her sides, making her look very pretty
(sorry no pictures)

So after our in depth analysis,
While this is a very nice brush,
we think it is better suited to pups with longer furs than pugs. Like our friends Frankie & Ernie

Thank you Chewy and Ms Sydney
for letting us try out these products

Mom's leaving on a Jet Plane

Mom is leaving us today
and going to California for a few days
There is going to be a family get together
 to remember Mom's stepmother
who passed away in February.

Mom worked on a special project for family members
Her stepmother loved to cook so with the help of
her sister, mom put together a book of favorite recipes

Mom's sister typed most of the recipes
and emailed them to mom
Then mom copied them into her photo editing software
and added sunflower accents,
sunflowers were a favorite of her stepmother.

Dad brought in a table
so mom had some room to lay pages out as they printed

Mom printed 2 recipes to a page,
 front and back

Dad helped her cut pages and punch holes for the binding

Fourteen books!

It will be a wonderful way to remember her
every time we make one of these delicioius recipes

Oh Gee! Look at Earl!

He is ready to go to sunny California with Mom
and get away from this crazy Idaho weather!

And while Mom is away we will be
running in the Mayors Marathon tomorrow

Look out we don't run you over
with our super fast racing  stroller!
BOL!
