Monday Memories

After a weekend of snow we have had a cold spell
with night time temps in the single digits.
The other evening I was taking my dear sweet time
finding a spot to go pee when Mom said to me

"Mabel! you've got your Greta on!"

Then she smiled as a memory filled her thoughts

It was January 2013.
After two days of snow
the temperatures turned bitterly cold,
minus double digits at night and single digits during the day

Bailey & Hazel were pretty good about getting their business done quickly and getting back in the house.

But not Greta,
She would have to go back and forth about 87 times
before she would be ready to do anything. Then her feet would get too cold before she could get anything done

So we went shopping and got Greta some boots!!

Here she is testing out her new boots
If you listen you can hear the snow squeaking with the cold

In typical Greta style
she scaled the snow mountain to pee!

Oh how we miss that girl

  5. Those temps are much too cold to fool around in, Mabel. Hurry it up and get back inside where it's warm! We loved your video! Greta doesn't seem to be bothered by the frigid temps at all!

  6. That sure is cold. We have to wear booties if it gets below 10 degrees F. It takes both of us too long to find the right places to do our business and our toes freeze if we don't have our booties on.

  8. That is a great memory of Greta. And one more reason to shoot lots of video. Mabel, we foresee the possibility of boots in your future:)

  9. You can tell how cold it is by the way the snow squeaks. We haven't had it that cold here … yet. Once Lakes Erie and Ontario start to freeze, the bitter cold will come to us. Stay warm pups!

  10. Greta as a true champ who never let anything get her down. We love the picture of her with the shows. She looks so stylish.

  11. Well, no wonder she had to walk around, having a camera pointed at you, does put off your business. BOL!

  12. Greta was such a doll. I don't think the Bayou Boys would either one want to go take care of business in those temps with the snow!

  13. You can tell it is very cold when the snow makes that crunchy noise. It's been a long time since I've heard that. I know you still miss Gretta terribly. It's so good you have these memories.

  16. What a sweetie. I can see why you miss her so. Some girls just have to have the pawfect spot to do their business, no matter how cold it is. Yes, Elsa...I'm talking about you. BOL
