Thankful For Blogville

Today is the day (in the USA) for gathering with family and giving thanks for all the blessing in our lives.

It is also

Happy Thanks Blogville Day!!!

And we feel so blessed to be a part of the wonderful community known as Blogville.

We have made friends all around the world - friends that laugh with you, mourn with you,
stand by you just when you need a friend.

We have laughed hard, cried hard,
 prayed hard and played hard.

We learn new things - see new places,
parts of the world we would never be able to visit.

Thanks Blogville!
for being our friends
through thick and thin!

Have a wonderful day!

How do You Mend a Broken Heart?

I really debated writing this post. I know I am not the only one grieving the loss of a beloved pet and it seems there is so much illness and struggles going on recently and I felt it would be selfish of me to want to pour my heart out -
to you - my dear friends.
But where else can I go,
but to those who understand the most.
I will understand if you do not want to read on.

It was a rough weekend - A lot of tears shed
Taking care of Greta's things has been a slow process. I washed her crate pad right away but it was a month before we put her crate away. I just couldn't do it. They day we brought her ashes home, we went to town and found the most beautiful box for her.

We dried some of the flowers
and had a pink heart engraved with her name.

But her ashes still sat on top of the bookcase in the little tin along with the box and her picture and fresh flowers, her very first toy and all the cards that came in the mail.

 A Greta shrine.

With the holidays coming and company expected from out of town for Thanksgiving,
I knew it was time to put her to rest.
So Saturday I made a soft fleece pouch for her.
Then Stan and I placed her collar and some of the dried flowers with her.

A picture went in too.

The pink heart is tied around the clasp.

On Sunday she took her place on the special shelves
along with the others.

A couple of weeks ago I revisited all the Greta tributes
in blogville and printed them.
Saturday when I laid them all out on the table for this picture the tears just flowed.

It was overwhelming to see how many loved our little girl.

You may have noticed I changed our blog header -
I wanted to make it look more happy
and I could not leave her out.

I know you all won't mind that Angel Greta
is still a big part of the blog for a while,
she was the heart and soul of it.
To be honest,
it has been a bit of a struggle to get inspired to blog,
but I take it one day at a time.
There will be one more special post
to show you a gift from my husband
Then along with keeping up with Bailey & Hazel
I want to continue to share some of Greta's best moments
I want to be able to celebrate her life

All of the cards and tributes will go in the pink binder
that I was keeping for her certificates
and to record all her accomplishments.
What better place for all these expressions of love
 from our friends
for that was her greatest accomplishment of all
touching so many with her zest for life.

Thank you for listening friends -

And don't forget
Murphy & Stanley
will be hosting
Thankful for Blogville Day on Thursday
I know I am very thankful for Blogville

Frigid Friday with a Greta Flashback

Tuesday morning it was -2 degrees

Mom put our coats on us

before we headed out to do our business

Bailey did his thing and hurried back in the house

Hey!  Wait for me!!

Come on Mom!

It's cold out here!

Which brings us to our flashback!

Greta would take FOREVER to go potty
and when the temps are below zero
little paws get cold very quickly

So we bought her some boots to wear
so she could stay out long enough
to get her pottying done.

Learning to run in her new boots!

When it is all said and done
we know already know who the winner is

Now before we go
we want to send our love and POPT to all
our friends in need

and ask a special favor for a sweet little girl

Here is a letter from Angus's Mom

Good Friends:
We will be off the blog most of this week and will try to be back online on Friday at the latest.  Tomorrow is our election here and then Mom is leaving to go with her daughter and son in law up to Iowa City to stay with Macey.  On Saturday we got some news that have worried our hearts, and we are hoping the multiple scans will prove them wrong.  I know all over blogville and the heavens prayers are being said for our friends and loved ones,  but we are wondering since such a brave little girl is involved if a few extra ones to travel above for her.

Last year Gussie tried to make a deal with his Santy Claus to make Tweedles better, and before we knew it she was on the road to recovery.  We are thinking we may need more than Santa Claus to make this happen.  I know each of you have our own belief's in the world and the powers from above, but we are wondering if at 8:20 AM on Wednesday if everyone on blogville could just stop for one moment and say a little prayer for Macey we would forever be in your gratitude.

I also am asking a second favor if you are comfortable with our request-- will you post it to your blog.  I will be reading them to Macey to help keep her distracted.  As soon as we know anything I will let one of you know by late Wednesday evening.

All our love and Friendship
Deb, Stella Rose, Margaret Mae, Angus Mac and Macey's Family

Thank you friends

I, Mr Bailey,

We have all become good furiends!

We can't believe the election is almost here

It has been a great ride!
