One Week

We can't believe that a week has passed
since we said goodbye to Bailey.
The house is quieter and there are those little random moments when we expect him to be there that get to us.
We are comforted though that Bailey had a good long life and left us with many wonderful memories.

While Mom is still working on another memory post
we want to thank all our friends
 for their love and support

Thank you to all that left comments, sent emails.
Some of you remembered Bailey on your own blogs
It truly touched our hearts

We received some lovely cards, flowers and a gift

Thank you to
MrJackFreckles, Pipo & Angel Minko's Petcretary
for sending us this lovely momento.

Hailey & Zaphod, our dear friends in Canada
were kind enough to make a donation in Bailey's honor
to a fund that helps people that can't afford their vet bills
We know that Bailey is smiling from above.

And a special thank you to Ann at Zoolatry
for these wonderful badges.
Each one is so pawfect
capturing our boys sweet soul.

Thank you everyone

Remembering Mr Bailey - His Younger Years

If you have been lucky enough to have a pet with with you for 14 plus years you have a lot of memories to cherish. When I was looking through older photos, I realized that Bailey was almost 10 when we started the blog.

So today I want to celebrate Bailey's life
by sharing some memories from his younger years.

First day at the PugRanch.

I wasn't chewing on your slipper - honest!

Flower Friday in our Memorial Garden

We want to thank our friends for all the love and support
It means so much to us
As hard as it is to say goodbye
we know that Bailey is now pain free
and running like a young pup again

Today on Flower Friday with Angel Dory
we invite you to visit our Memorial Garden

But before we take you to our Memorial Garden
we want to show you the beautiful flowers
 we received yesterday

These came from Tucker & Bianca's Mom
(Mom's granddaughter)

They are so beautiful along with the special gift

So several years ago, Mom & Dad created a
Memorial Garden

Over time
Mom has kind of let nature do what it will somewhat

The ground covers have spread and co-mingled
and some of the other plants have spread as well

These lovely lavender colored flowers
are now in a few different spots

Look closely and you can see the very tiny white flowers

But Mom's very favorite flowers in the Memorial Garden
are the the tiny purple flowers around the memorial rocks

Mom & Dad have picked a special rock
and today they will take it to be engraved with "Bailey"
Of the seven rocks already in the garden,
Bailey lived with five of those precious souls

Thank you again for your love and support
Mom hopes to have a special memory post done for Monday

Mr Bailey is Running Free

Mr Bailey grew so weary from his struggles.
The last few weeks we could tell he was dreaming of those days when he could run in the yard as his legs moved
and he made little yips as he was sleeping.

Yesterday afternoon we held him and loved him
and helped him on his journey to the Rainbow Bridge

No more struggles dear Bailey Man -
now you are running free with Greta,
your sweetheart Dory,
and all your friends at the Bridge

We love you forever Buddy,

Mom, Dad

Blogville Friends are The Best

Hello Friends
It's Mr Bailey here again today

Last week the FedEx truck pulled up our drive.
We were not expecting a delivery
and were very surprised when he had a big box for us

Inside the box was an awesome dog bed,
A memory foam bed made just for old doggies like me

When Mom read the card her eyes got all leaky

Ruby at The Daily Pip had a giveaway

The giveaway was won by
Misty & Lightning at The Chronicle of Woo's

The Woo's asked if I could have the bed
to rest my weary bones

Such a thoughtful and generous gift from
Ruby & Rosie and Misty & Lightning

we can't thank you enough!

As you can see -
I settled right in for a good nap and snoring session

Hazel thinks it is pretty comfy too!

Now yesterday was Father's Day
and I want to give a shout out to my dad

I can no longer make it up the ramp to the bed
so every night at bed time,
Dad carries me in and lays me down
on an orthopedic pad that is above Mom's pillow
(good thing she is short BOL!)
Then whatever time I decide I need to get up -
usually around 5 am -
Dad will get up and carry me outside so I can go potty.
I love you Dad for everything you do for me.

And I have to hand it to Mom also,
at some point in the middle of the night
I want to change position
and I need her help to get moved around and comfy again

There has been a lot of tearful talk about something called quality of life as my strength continues to decline.

One day at a time

Remembering My Friend Bilbo

Hello Friends
Mr Bailey here today to remember a dear friend
Bilbo

I first met Bilbo during the 2014 Mayoral campaign
 when I was campaign manager
for Murphy & Stanley
and he was the campaign manager
 for his lovely sister Dory

One phone call turned into the
Road to the Great Debate
and before we knew it

We were in Dory's Backyard
trying to explain why we were there!

And from there a friendship was born

Being totally smitten with the lovely Dory

I turned to Bilbo
to help me plan the pawfect Valentine Date

It was a night to remember thanks to Bilbo
and I won the heart of the lovely Dory

Yesterday,
my friend Bilbo
went to join his sister Dory at the Rainbow Bridge

Bilbo - a little guy with a big heart

I will miss you my friend
I know that Dory was happy to see you
Give her my love
till we meet again

Your friend
Mr Bailey
