Rugs for Pugs on Ice

Last weekend we got some very wet snow 

It thawed a little and then got cold again

 our yard turned into a hard crunchy snow and ice field

It made it difficult for getting out

especially for Mr Bailey

Mom and Dad got the idea of putting some old rugs on top of the ice to make it easier for us to get out into the yard

Dad managed to get some of the grass cleared off

it's Official - I'm A Pug!

The circumstances of my birth were such 

that although I know I am a PUG 

and all of you know I am a PUG, 

there were no registration papers saying

 that I am a purebred PUG.  

No Big Deal

Except

You have to be registered with AKC

if you want to enter AKC Obedience & Rally trials

(which Mom & I want to do)

Fortunately AKC lets pups like me apply for what is called 

a Purebred Alternative Listing

Mom had to fill out some papers with all my vital statistics,

 and tell AKC why she thought I was a PUG

they wanted a couple of mug shots

and of course some green papers and assurance that 

I had my lady operation. 

We put all that in the mail a few weeks ago

and guess what came in the mail on Saturday!

An official paper that says I am a PUG

(we all knew that all along didn't we?)

and my official name is

Maybe She's Mabelene

Whew! 

Glad I am all official now!

January Chewy Review Hop

It is Chewy Review time!!

And new this month!

This month we received 

Fromm Oven Baked Parmesan Cheese Treats

Ingredients

Fresh Wisconsin Parmesan cheese, pea flour, potato flour, tapioca, whole peas, chicken fat, tomato pomace, fresh cranberries, sweet potatoes, carrots, apples, split peas, green beans, green bell peppers, celery, beets, oregano, parsley, lettuce, watercress, spinach.

These were bigger than we expected 

(that is a dime next to it) 

and are hard and crunchy

Mom managed to break one up into smaller pieces

 but some were too hard to break easily

We did notice the WONDERFUL smell

even Mom thought they smelled good!

Yummy!

Eye popping yummy!

Yep! Three Yummies!!!

So here is our honest verdict

Although these treats smelled delicious

and we thought they were yummy

they are not great treats for us

We do not do hard crunchy treats very well

especially Bailey & Hazel

Mom would have to break them up

 and some of them were too hard

We DO think that bigger dogs would really like these

We are going to pass these on to our cousin Tucker

he really likes biscuits!

When We See Sugar Smile

Today we are joining OZ and many others to show support for our friend

Sugar has a beautiful smile

When we see Sugar smile we see the joy she brings to all our lives 

and especially to her pawrents who love her and always do everything they can to give Sugar a wonderful life.

Today Sugar is having surgery to remove a mass on her spleen. We want to let her family know we are thinking of Sugar today and sending POTP for a successful surgery.

Freezing Cold & Christmas Presents!

It has been so cold here

that Santa Snoopy had an icicle beard!

Before we show you our Christmas presents

 from Dory and Arty

Mr Bailey wants you to see he is getting all better

 
Yes friends, my swelling is all gone!

If you look closely you can see my stitches
I have been a good boy 
and I don't have to wear the cone of shame anymore. 
The dogtor will take the stitches out on Thursday

Although I was not feeling too great on Christmas Day

Opening these presents from my beautiful Dory
made me feel all good inside!

they sound yummy
