OMD! Furiends!
We met a kitty in the furs for the very first time!
The other night we went outside
to do our just before bedtime potties.
Mom & I could hear a kitty meowing.
We looked and looked and finally discovered a kitty perched on the deck railing right next to the back of the house.
It stayed there the whole time we were outside.
That was unusual
We live out of town and we do get cats that come through our property, but they stay clear of the house and run off if they see anyone.
We went back in the house and went to bed hoping the cat would find his way home.
Next morning we got up and went outside to do our morning constitutionals and once again we could hear the meowing.
This time it was coming from underneath the deck.
We immediately told Dad and he came out to help get the kitty out from under the deck
The kitty was very glad to see Dad
and was not scared at all of him or us pugs.
Mom tried to take pictures of our meeting
but it was still dark - these are the only pictures that turned out OK
The kitty did get a little intimidated when all three of us wanted to say HI! But he did not run away.
We thought he must be hungry
so we gave him some left over chicken to eat.
Later Dad called his sister who loves cats
She came over and the kitty ran right up to her when she came in the gate. She looked him over. He was young and skinny and looked like he had been in a fight. She said she would take him home and off she drove with the kitty in her lap! We are glad he will have a good home.

Sounds like a friendly kitty. It's good that your auntie came and said she would take care of the kitty...but I do have to wonder since he was pretty friendly and didn't seem scared of you pugs (not that you're scary!) if he has a family somewhere and he was lost? Maybe one of the pictures you took of Mr.Kitty could be sent/emailed to some of the local animal shelters or pounds in case someone is looking for him.
ReplyDeleteThat is AWESOME! I would love to meet a kit-cat. I'm so glad he wasn't afraid of you and that you got to meet him, and MOSTLY we LOVE that your aunt came over and took him HOME!!!!!! What a great story. We hope everything works out for him. Poor kit-cat!

Ohhhh, how wonderful that the cat had such a lovely ending to his story. You were all very good to be kind to that little cat.
ReplyDeleteThe other day, Cricket met a cat while she was off the lead, Mum was a bit apprehensive because she is a sighthound and they are reputed to chase anything. She was such a good girl though and didn't bother the cat at all.

ReplyDeleteWe love all our kitty pals that we have met through the blogs, but Mom says we would not be very nice to kitties in pawson:( That sure is a cute one, though. We too are happy that little kitty has a good home now.

Crikey ..... and I thought cats were stupid. That was one smart cat to go to your house, aye?? Now he's got a great new home and he got some chicken for his travels. Did you at least get to have a good sniff? Maybe you'll get to see him again at your Dad's sister's house.
ReplyDeleteWOW...you are kitty whisperers for sure! It seems like kitties always know when we're coming and take off. We are sure it has nothing to do with the fact we are barking hello to them!!
ReplyDeleteWe are also glad the kitty found a good home...and maybe you'll get to visit it!!

How cool that the poor lost kitty got a good home! Winston loves to wrestle around with his kitty, Bogey, and Bogey seems to enjoy it, too.
