Oh Yea! It's Park Day

Hi everybody!
Today we are joining our blogville friends for
Park Day
hosted by Finn & Charley and Gizmo

Last Sunday Hazel & I got to spend the day
at one of our city parks.

The local kennel club was having a spring fun match.

It's like a Dog Show with breed showing and
Rally & Obedience rings

except it is not "official"

It is a great way to practice in a dog show environment

There were dogs that I had never met before

And alot of my friends were there also

And it was at the park that day

that I met my new little friend

Mom entered me in two events
Rally Novice and Beginner Novice Obedience

Here we are!

My very first time in the Rally Ring

I was very excited to be there and was not
too focused on what I was supposed to be doing

But Mom thought I did OK for my very first time

Hazel was ready for her turn in Rally Advanced.

I waited patiently while they were in the ring

Mom was very pleased, they made it all the way
through the course off leash!

In another area there was an agility course

Peeps paid to run the course with their dog
as a fundraiser for the local
Heart to Heart Pet Partner therapy dogs

Later it was my turn again

This time it was Beginner Novice Obedience
 and I did much better.

I even did a sit stay
while Mom walked all the way around the ring!

And guess what??

I tied for 3rd Place!!

What a great day at the park with friends
old and new

We are hoping when mag starts classes (now not till august..dang it) she will start to enjoy things like this..plus we must live where people only use their dogs for hunting cos we never have stuff to go to......and since the deers are bigger than us, well ....you get the picture!!
