One year ago today
we introduced ourselves to Blogville

was our first post

I was just a baby HA HA!

What a great year it has been

You've seen me when I'm naughty

and you've seen me at my best

We have made many wonderful friends

and sadly lost a few also.

We found out that Blogville
is a place of friendship, love,
 acceptance and support
Always there for each other

 We thought and thought
how should we celebrate our
first blogaversary?

We decided to celebrate
the Blogville way
by helping one of our first blogville friends
Tweedles
who recently had back surgery

So we made a contribution to
Tweedles Repair Fund

Thank you everyone
for making our first year great!
There is no other place we'd rather be
than here with you!

PLEASE COME BACK WEDNESDAY
FOR A SPECIAL POST
AND A LITTLE GIVEAWAY!!

Still Learning !

I received in the mail my official certificate
from AKC
for my Rally Novice Title!

I only need one more qualifying score to complete my Beginner Novice Obedience title
so Mom decided we should go to another show
to see if we could finish it this year
Well ......
It was a great learning experience for me!
HA HA
You know what that means -

No qualifying score.

That darn sit stay while
Mom walks around the perimeter of the ring.
The Judge told Mom to walk forward and turn right.
which put Mom walking right towards the exit of the ring.

HEY MOM!! don't leave without me!!!!!!
So... no sit stay.

But Mom says we came away
with some VERY positive things.

The first trial I went to in June was a big dog show,
but the obedience/rally rings were in a separate area
far from the breed and agility rings so it was pretty quiet.

The trial we went to in August
was an obedience/rally trial only.
A little more going on but still pretty quiet.

Well the show we went to on Saturday
had everything going on  -
breed rings, agility rings, obedience and rally rings,
people and their dogs milling around everywhere.

I was pretty excited when we got there
after a 2 1/2 hr drive.
LOTS of smells in the long grass!
But I behaved myself very well
and after we found a spot to set up
I settled right down and that pleased Mom!

When it was our turn in the ring I heeled very nicely,
Mom says the best I have done yet,
I did all my sits on the halts too!
My sit for exam was perfect
and my recall was pretty good too!

Before we left we visited some of the vendor booths
and Dad bought me a cool coat.

Not only is it a cool looking coat
but it is supposed to help keep me cool when it is hot.
It is made of terry cloth and when it is wet it
will help me stay cool for a while.

So overall it was a good day!

Idaho PugRanch Volume 1

Not too long ago
our lovely Mayoress Madi
told us about a website called

Have your blog turned into a printed book!
what a cool idea!

So we talked Mom into checking it out
and here is our book

Idaho PugRanch Volume 1
the first 6 months of our blog

It was quite easy to do

Select a date range
Mom was going to do 3 months but
we realized it was cheaper overall
to do 6 months at a time
(it is a flat price for the first 20 pages, small charge each addl page)

 After that the cost depends
on what options you choose

Mom decided to get a soft cover (less $)
but we opted for color pictures (more $).

We decided on NO page break at each post to
reduce the number of pages to print

You can elect to not include some posts
Mom realized too late that a few of
our posts just had a video so all that
printed was the post title.
Next time we will probably exclude those.

We are very happy with our book
and to have a permanent record of our blog

Thanks Madi for telling us about Blog2Print

And friends
today we are thinking of our dear sweet

She is having some tests
and possibly surgery
please keep her in your prayers today

Pet Memorial Day

Today is
Pet Memorial Day

A day to remember your dear pets
that have gone on to wait at the Rainbow Bridge

White Chang was Mom's very first Pug
She was an older pug whose
family no longer wanted her
and Mom jumped at the chance
to give her a loving home
She quickly became devoted to Mom
As her eyesite failed she would smell everyone
 till she found Mom.

White Chang left for the bridge in 1990
Mom had her favorite photo of her turned
into a cross stitch pattern and this hangs on
the wall in her bedroom

After Char Shu went to the Rainbow Bridge,
Mom put together this memorial picture of
the original PugRanch Kids

Clockwise from upper left

Char Shu   06/13/1992 - 08/12/09   17 yrs
Mao Yen  11/23/89 - 12/07/02  13 yrs
McKenzie 09/01/93 - 11/28/05  12 yrs
Pugsley 06/16/92 - 10/25/06  14 yrs

there is one more
12/22/2011 - 03/02/2012

It is still too hard for Mom
so there are no pictures on the wall
maybe someday
But her name is on a rock in
the Memorial Garden that is outside

We will show you pictures of that tomorrow

Sarge and Greta Part 2

Hey Everyone!
Wow, my date with lovely Greta is going amazingly well!   She's a wonderful lady and I'm having a great time with her.    In case you missed the first half of our date, please click back a few hours to part 1.   And, be sure to check out this morning's post with the crabby girls and their date, Coccolino.   OMC they had a fabulous adventure together.

Anyway, we left off the last post with Greta running the lights and sirens on my Chief of Police car as we zoomed around Blogville.   Well, here's where I took her next....
After going swimmie and relaxing in the sun, we were a little hungry!  BOL   We ended up at the local Ice Cream Shoppe for a snack.   OMD look at this window!   There must be creamy cool treats inside here.
Well, Greta is such a pawesome gal, she knew exactly what to get for us.  I let her do the honors and set us up with a sweet treat to satisfy our hunger.
Woohoooo!   Isn't she the bestest date ever?   Check out what she ordered.  A ginormous banana split for two and it came with a pair of spoons just for us.  Yeah, well our slurpers took care of that.  No spoons required.  We put our tongues to good use and had a lot of laughs licking up whipped cream and rolling cherries around the dish.  Oh, this is such fun!     Tasty too.  BOL
Now that our tummies are full, I have some more fun planned for our mid-afternoon adventure.  We're going on a Hayride!  We climbed aboard the wagon and these two beautiful horses escorted us around the fields.  What a pretty view.  We enjoyed all of the sights and sounds and smells of mother nature.

After the hayride, we strolled around the farm and insniffigated all of the fun things like barns and rain barrels and scarecrows.  The whole place was filled with wondrous and wild things.   We took such a nice long walk and spent a few hours stretching our legs, moseying along and checking out the farm.
All too soon the afternoon began to slip away and we knew that dusk was coming.   We went off to the edge of the woods for a nice, cozy Campfire!    I wanted to impress Greta, so I zoomed right into the woods and came back with a freshly killed squirrel for dinner!    Oh, it was perfect and she seemed impressed which made me wag like crazy.
I whipped us up a delicious squirrel stew for dinner!   OMD nothing tastes better than fresh meat over an open fire.    I'm so very glad that Greta is the outdoorsy type and we can enjoy this together.

After awhile, we roasted a few hot dogs and some marshmallows over the fire and listened to the sounds of the forest at night.  We heard owls hooting and crickets chirping and watched the stars in the sky.  What an amazing evening!

Oh, the day was so very perfect!   Lovely Greta was an amazing date and I gathered my courage and gave her a gentlemanly small slurp on the cheek.  She giggled and I wagged.  SUCCESS!  She had a great time too and I'm so very happy she enjoyed our day together.  Thank you, sweet Greta for one of the bestest days of my life.   You are wonderful!

  Grr and Woof,
Sarge, Happy Hound
