What to Read ?
On these cold winter nights there is nothing
like settling down with a good book
Lets see
what can I read
That isn't going to give me nightmares!
Mom wants me to tell you that she has a trainee
with her at work, so she is pretty busy
We will try to get around to visit everybody but
please forgive us if we don't always comment

Scoop Less Poop
Today we are participating in the monthly blog hop
The Scoop That Poop Campaign was created by Sugar the Golden Retriever to bring awareness to the importance of scooping dog poop. This monthly blog hop is hosted at Sugar the Golden Retriever, Oz the Terrier, My GBGV Life, Pawsitively Pets, The World According to Garth Riley and The Lazy Pitbull.
There is no theme this month
we can post about
anything related to scooping poop
so we thought we would tell you how
what you eat
can affect how much you poop
And how much you poop affects
how much your peeps have to scoop!
There you go Mom
you wanted a sample to show people
I eat twice a day and I poop twice a day
When I came to the PugRanch,
Mom picked out a "premium" puppy/dog food for me.
As you all know if your dog eats quality food
they should have smaller and firmer poops
I did well on this food and my poops
were "good" and we were all happy
until I developed allergies
Three months ago Mom changed my food to
a very limited ingredient diet
Natures Variety Instinct
one protein - duck
one carb - tapioca
one vegetable - peas
vitamins and omega's
It has really helped my itchies
AND
as you can see here
My poops are no longer "good"
They are GREAT!
Small and compact, almost like pellets
and the best part for Mom & Dad
very easy to scoop!!!
as opposed to our neighbor dog
(the one who's peeps never scoop)
He is a medium size dog
but his poops are HUGE and not compact
Mom was going to take a picture for comparison
but she thought that might be weird to be seen taking a picture
of the neighbor dogs poop

Focus Fun & Tricks
Over the winter break Mom & I took a class called
Focus, Fun & Tricks
The main objective of the class was to learn how
put fun into our training sessions,
and build a better bond with each other
by using personal play (just playing with each other)
and toy play together.
We also did clicker work letting
us, the dogs,
do the thinking to figure out
what we were supposed to do
We worked with a box
like this one
When we started, if I got near the box
Mom would click and give me a treat
Then I had to touch the box to get my treat
Mom kept wanting more interaction with the box
and before long I was getting IN THE BOX
to score my treat!
Mom then decided to see
if we could do something with a mat
Like this one
The goal was for me to go to the mat and lay down
It didn't take me long to figure that out
When we were making these videos
I first thought Mom still wanted me to
get in the box
But I thought it out and went to the mat
Like a GOOD GIRL!!!!
Don't forget the auction for
Tweedles
There are many wonderful items to bid on
with new things added each day
Go Here to check it out

Beauty in Tragedy
Today we are participating in the
hosted by our beautiful friend SUGAR
First,
there has been a lot of this
at our house the last few weeks
Mom and Dad have both been sick so
we have have been here but not here
if you know what I mean
Mom finally got to stay home from work today
She wasn't sure what to post today
then she saw it was See Beautiful Friday
and read Easy's post about memories in pictures.
And she thought about last weekend
and how she saw
Beauty in the midst of Tragedy
A new years eve auto accident on icy roads
claimed the lives of two young men in our community
One of them was a childhood friend of the grandson
Best of friends in earlier years
not as close in high school
but they were brothers on the football field
Both home from college for the holidays they
had been trying to find time to get together when the tragic news came
When she heard, mom called her son
he was going through the hundreds of photos he had taken over the years
of the boys at sporting events (his hobby is sports photography)
He knew how important these memories would be to the family.
Along with other family photos he was able to put together
a 30 minute slide show that was shown at the funeral home
as friends and family gathered in support.
Beauty in Tragedy
Saturday was the funeral
Thirty young men lined the aisle of the church to honor
their friend as the casket was brought in
Beauty in Tragedy
At the cemetery, the last prayers had been said
when his friends and team mates gathered around the casket
for one last football cheer
hoorah hoorah hoorah HOORAH!
Beauty in Tragedy
Sunday, Mom was expecting the son and family to come over and watch
the 49r's football game. But they decided to do something different.
Knowing the grandson would be going back to college soon,
the need to make some family memories outweighed watching football on TV
So they went out with the camera and took some beautiful family photos
That sad morning, when going through all the pictures, the son realized that while he had thousands of sports pictures, they no longer were taking many of just family stuff
and that needed to change
