Over the winter break Mom & I took a class called
Focus, Fun & Tricks
The main objective of the class was to learn how
put fun into our training sessions,
and build a better bond with each other
by using personal play (just playing with each other)
and toy play together.
We also did clicker work letting
us, the dogs,
do the thinking to figure out
what we were supposed to do
We worked with a box
like this one
When we started, if I got near the box
Mom would click and give me a treat
Then I had to touch the box to get my treat
Mom kept wanting more interaction with the box
and before long I was getting IN THE BOX
to score my treat!
Mom then decided to see
if we could do something with a mat
Like this one
The goal was for me to go to the mat and lay down
It didn't take me long to figure that out
When we were making these videos
I first thought Mom still wanted me to
get in the box
But I thought it out and went to the mat
Like a GOOD GIRL!!!!
Don't forget the auction for

Good job. But boxes are for cats :)
ReplyDeleteGosh-- you babies are so smart! Mommy needs to learn some of those things to do for me- to make more fun for me. Such a great idea. Can you think of something so that a live human being can come into this house-- without my continual crazy barking,, or how to ride in the car quietly? Maybe your mom has some ideas-- cause she sure makes like fun for you.!
ReplyDeleteSo many nice things in the auction,, and we are so grateful for all the donated treasures and bids to help me!
love
tweedles

That sounds like a very exciting thing to be doing with your human and you look like your having lot's of good fun :) Milo & Jet
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a very good idea for a class. I like when my human and I get to play together - especially when there's something to stimulate my little pug brain and also potential to earn treats. You did a fantastic job going to your bed and lying down, Greta!
ReplyDelete-Love,
Sid.
The clicker can be amazing or scary. To me I am scared of the noise!
