Yesterday - Me & Mom & Dad
went on a mini road trip 2 hrs west to
Shoshone Falls
With a 212 foot drop and a width of 900 feet, it is one of the largest natural waterfalls in the United States.
It is also known as the Niagra of the West
The flows over the falls are seasonal runoffs
from the mighty Snake River, which carves its way through deep basalt canyons and is the largest tributary to the Columbia River.
The best time to visit Shoshone Falls is during peak water flows, between the months of April and July.
With the near record snowfall we had this year the run off has made the falls quite spectacular!
This is a view of the Snake River coming into the falls
looking from the side
Getting closer
One of several overlooks
The power of the water rushing over the falls
sent spray way up into the air
Me and Dad on the overlook
Mom would not get close!
This is where we were
An incredible view!
When we were walking on the path a lady stopped
and asked if I slept with Mom & Dad
Mom thought that was a strange question but said yes
The lady laughed and said
"Well then you have bed pugs"
BOL!
A stunning view!
I think I like having both Mom & Dad retired
if we get to have adventures like this!
