What We did This Summer

We can't believe that summer is almost over
But we can feel it in the air
the nights are cooler and soon the days will be too

Mom & Dad both retired this year
and it has been great to have them home with us
all the time

I taught Dad how to take an afternoon nap!

While Hazel & I did not go on any vacation trips
we did get some visitors to the PugRanch

Baby robins hatched in the tree by our front gate

I got to meet one of the babies up close and personal

And I like to think I helped him learn how to fly

We have had several of these funny looking dudes

This big hawk likes to hang around the farm field
that is just near our house
but this day he was on our fence!

Usually he is on top of the power pole
and screeches real loud

Hazel & I spent a lot of time hanging out

We grew a garden this year.
So far we have harvested cucumbers, zucchini
and the most deliciously sweet cherry tomatoes.
We also have carrots, banana squash
and spaghetti squash to enjoy soon
Mom has been making lots of zucchini bread - YUM!

Hazel and I had fun at an Obedience/Rally Trial in August

Hazel got to participate in the team competition

I finished my Beginner Novice Obedience Title
and did Rally too

The really fun thing I have done this summer is Agility Class
Every Monday night we go to class
and I have been learning a lot

I have some obstacles at home to practice on
A really nice lady gave us a full size teeter and our instructor let us borrow a big tunnel

Here is a video of us practicing.
I used to be scared of the teeter but having one at home to practice on has made all the difference in my confidence.

So that has been our summer
Now that the weather is cooling down
we may get to go on some day trips scouting out nice places to go camping next year.

  15. Crikey ..... that sure was a busy summer. I thought retirement meant slowing down. Seems there's no slowing down at your house, aye?? It was good of you to teach those birdies how to fly. I do that too. Don't tell anyone but I once ate one of those funny looking green dudes. Mum was so upset. I wonder why. It was very tasty!!
