Mom's Great Plan

Cards, Cards, Cards

Mom had a plan -
If she printed her own Christmas cards,
she could afford the stamps to send them all out

So she bought postcard paper - 4 cards to a sheet
and a box of envelopes

She spent Saturday morning getting the envelopes ready while we waited for Dad to come home so we could do our photo shoot for the cards.

I was so excited about my new Christmas dress

I just wanted to dance - not sit still for a picture!

And Bailey - well -

Just take my picture and give me a treat already!

But a few good pictures were gotten
(and thank goodness for photoshop!)

Mom got busy designing the cards
there was to be print on both sides

finally all was ready to start printing

One page

two pages

Then the printer started acting up
and would not pull the thicker paper through

No matter what Mom did it did not want to cooperate
after 2 hrs - 4 sheets printed on one side only

AAARRRGGGGGHHH!

What to do? - what to do?
Her great plan was falling apart.

Dad said give it rest and try again in the morning

So she did
and Sunday the printer decided to be nice

and a stack of cards are going in the mail today!
(Note to Mom - let someone else print the cards next year)

And this is where we tell you our card count

Pugs -  21
Peeps - 1

thank you everyone!

Mom thought about printing her own until she found out she could get 75 of them from Costco for $19.99. Mom loves Costco!

  5. Guess what? My mom had the same brilliant idea, but the printer said: Pfffff and refused to give back the sheet with the half printed cards. Sadly my mom has a nuclear mushroom inside, what came out immediately and she played a tug of war with the printer. The printer won and mom only got the booby-prize, an elastic spring... that means we need a new printer and therefore the copy-guy makes our cards this year and I cross my paws that they are really ready tomorrow. I'm sure your cards are beautiful, if pugs are on a card, this card is as precious as a black amex :o)

  17. WE think there was no doubt a Squirrel Hair in there and it finally worked its way out...

OMD Hazel, your DRESS is oh so Elegant... and Bailey your Bow Tie is so .... MANLEY.

  18. I think Frankie and Ernie might be right about the squirrel hair in there. You really have to watch them tree rats closely, because they can cause a lot of drama in a short amount of time.

Love your outfits. I didn't pawticipate in the card swap since I'm doing the gift swap, so I hope you'll post your Christmas pix on your blog.

  23. Oh, I drew/printed my own cards a few years back, so I know how tricky printers can be with that thick paper! I'm glad to hear your printer decided to play nice. (It knows Santa is watching!) LOVE the pugs in their Christmas finery. TOO cute!!

  24. Mom tried that one year too and got so frustrated with the darn printer. Now all she uses the printer for is labels for the cards she mails:) We do ecards for all our blog pals and then make a contribution to our local shelter - saves a lot of time and helps the less fortunate.

Hazel, you look even more beautiful in your new dress than we ever imagined and Bailey - you are one handsome dude.

Goodness, my mommy said the printer is out of toner,, and if it isn't that- it would be jamming anyway!! Good for your momma in not giving up!!!
