There are farm fields around where we live and often there are large hawks hunting for mice
One day we saw one on the neighbors power pole
Can you see him sitting on top?
Mom used the zoom on her camera to get closer
What a handsome fellow
OOHHH! He is looking right at us!
He let out a loud screech
Then took flight!

We have a lot of hawks in our area. One built a nest in the woods by our house and had two babies. We were able to watch them learn to fly. It was amazing. They are so fierce looking, but we love them.
ReplyDeleteOHHHHHH what a great zoomie your mom did. That is an excellent close up. AND I think he is quite the poser too. Hawks and Eagles are so majestic but You know what mom thinks is funny about them is their puny screech. She always laughs when she hear it she thinks it should be much stronger and scary
ReplyDeleteHugs madi your bfff
He's beautiful, but we hope he wasn't looking for some little pugs for dinner.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a regal and handsome birdie! I bet the mice and munks run for cover. BOL Great job getting the pix and the flying shot too. :)

What a awesome looking bird! At Mom's old house she had a goose nest in her front flowerbed by the decorate pond. The bird's mate wouldn't let ANYone up the sidewalk to the front door and used to scare Mom flapping their wings at her she she had to fetch the mail. One day, the mama goose was away from the nest for just a moment to eat and Daddy goose had walked around the corner of the house for some reason. Through the glass door Mom saw a hawk land near the nest and start moving towards it. Mom FLEW though the door screaming and chasing that hawk so it wouldn't eat the eggs as Mama and Papa Goose came flying back around the corner of the house. After that day, they never honked or flapped their wings at Mom as they seemed to realize she was protecting their nest. She was sad when she sold the house and no longer got to see them every year.

ReplyDeleteWe have some hawks around here too, and some glen eagles. We worry about all our neighbors who have small dogs. Be careful out there. He is very handsome but still be careful.

Great pic! We got tons of hawks round here.
ReplyDeleteWe are not fans of those things. They can carry little dogs like us away. If you can keep them in your neighborhood I would appreciate it. Thank you

ReplyDeleteSuper cool photos! We would probably bark at that hawk. When ever we see crows we sort of go berzerk with barking. BOL. Good to see you again.

Eep! You all better start eating more so you get nice and fat so he can't swoop down and grab you! See, perfect reason for having a few extra snacks each day! :)
