Hello everyone!
It's me Hazel here today
I know that Mom has mentioned several times
that I had become a picky eater
Just when Mom thinks she has found something I really like
I don't like it anymore
Sometimes it would take me 5 to 10 minutes
to decide to eat
Well that has all changed.
A few weeks ago I started having some daily episodes of reverse sneezing.
Mom took me to see the dogtor.
She sent me home with some antibiotics
and a cough suppressant.
I felt better right away
and
it has helped my appetite
Hey Dad!
Don't you want to share those chips??
Something in the fridge sure smells good
Mom!
I really would like some of this good smelling food
Maybe I can just help myself!
Sheesh Mom!
I can't believe you would not let me have some of those yummy ribs from Famous Dave's
note from Mom:
Hazel has finished a week of antibiotics
We started with 2 of the cough suppressants per day for 4 days
then 1 a day for 4 days with no trachea episodes
We reduced to 1/2 pill a day and unfortunately she had some issues
so we have gone back to 1 a day for a while longer and then try again to reduce
The vet said we might have to get through the season change
or at her age it might be Hazel's new normal
and it will be a matter of figuring out the lowest dose to control things.
The good side is her appetite.
While it has been a daily struggle to get her to start eating
now I put her bowl down and she digs right in!

Hey Hazel, I like the sound of those yummy rib's from Famous Dave's (although I must say 'Dave' is not so famous that I had heard of him before in Scotland!)
ReplyDeleteToodle pip!
Bertie.
PS We're hoping you can get the medications just right so your appetite stays good and your sneezing stops.
Glad to hear you are doing better.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe they're so cruelly starving you, Hazel! They should DEFINITELY share those ribs!

ReplyDeleteHazel, this is great news - mostly! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
We're glad to hear you are eating (and probably feeling) better Hazel. It doesn't seem fair that your pawrents could eat those ribs but not you.
ReplyDeleteEating is always the bestest thing! We hope you find a happy medium for the antibiotics, Hazel.
ReplyDeleteWe're so glad Hazel is on the mend! We always get nervous when a doggie doesn't want to eat.
ReplyDeleteWe're so glad you have your appetite back! Now all you need is some of those ribs!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCammie!
PS: Our mom won't let us eat ribs, either.
Oh Hazel darlin' it is hard to eat when you are sneezing or your sweet puggy nose is drippin'. And I bet food didn't taste all that good with allergies so Double Yay from us on getting on track with solving the issue and most of all

Well, we will take the good appetite any time - Mom says she knows all about picky eaters from Angel Phantom. We hope you can be weaned off the meds, but if you need to keep taking them, we know your Mom will do what is best for you.

Hazel sorry you are sneezy but glad you found something that helps and makes you hungry.
ReplyDeleteWe are glad you are eating better. I am sure that makes your parents feel better
ReplyDeleteI am glad that the medicine has helped her appetite. Hopefully, you can reduce it to a smaller amount and still keep the hunger benefit. She is so darn cute! ♥
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear she's feeling better and has a more robust appetite.
ReplyDeleteI am so glads you are feelin' betters and those meds are makin' you hungry! Ma says I don't needs any of that! BOL!! Butts, the peeps sure don't likes it when we don't eats much too. I'll be sendin' you lots of AireZens, and some cookies....IF I don't eats them furst....
ReplyDeleteKisses,

Glad you're eating good!
ReplyDeleteI don't know what Famous Dave's is, but Mom is drooling. Lucy was eating a raw beef rib when Mom and I left for work this morning. I hope you keep feeling better, even if your Mom won't share. ~Xena
ReplyDeleteWe are glad you are eating now Hazel. Are you too lovesick over Oreo? Eat up cuz you know he likes his wimmen thick.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry that you've been feeling poorly, Hazel. But I'm really glad that your mom and the vet figured out how to help you feel better, and most importantly, how to make you hungry. Please don't tell my dogs how to open the fridge or we humans will have nothing to eat!
ReplyDeleteKeep eating!!! I'm smiling for you.
We love hearing your appetite is improving Hazel and we sure hope the vet gets your meds regulated so your reverse b's stay away for good!

That is good news. Best wishes for continued good health Miss Hazel♥
ReplyDeleteThat is positive and great news that Hazel is eating much better! Hoping you get the meds and all sorted out so that she will stay well!
ReplyDeleteGlad we stopped by so that we could send some POTP to Hazel! Breezy has had a long winter fighting bronchitis. Mom finally talked the dogtor into trying a steriod inhaler on her and (paws crossed) it seems to be doing the trick helping keep her inflammation down and keeping the coughing at bay here. Sending you all tons of luvs from us!
