Hazel & I sleep with Mom & Dad
Each night I take my spot right in the middle,
under the covers, snuggled up to Mom.
Sometimes Dad can't sleep well
and if he is tossing and turning
he will go out to the living room so as not to disturb Mom
Well that doesn't really work
I worry about Dad and go check on him during the night
And for some reason Mom does not understand
after I check on Dad,
I grab a toy and bring it back to bed to show Mom.
The last two days Dad has been sick
and has moved out to the couch during the night.
Of course I had to make sure he was OK
and when Mom woke
there was a purple squeaky toy on the bed
I checked on Dad several times
and when Mom pulled back the covers
There was one, two ....
three more toys!
Each one I put right in Mom's face when I brought it to bed
So..
Yeah...
Thanks Dad for not wanting to disturb Mom's sleep!
BOL!

oh what a sweet idfea... you always brought a souvenir to your bed to make sure that you really checked if your daddy is ok... brilliant idea.. I bring just one toy in my bet, it's a weird chewing toy what's as spiky as a hedgehog..and it mostly lands under my dad who is not grateful for that free accupuncture ;O)))
ReplyDeleteMom knows you were concerned about Dad and you needed a friend to make it safely back to bed at night.
ReplyDeleteAwww... That's so sweet of you to check on your dad durin' the night, makin' sure he's okay. I don't do that. I have been known though to check on my first peep early in the mornin' though. You know, to make sure she's still alive and able to get me my brekkies. MOUSES!
ReplyDeleteI sure hope your Dad feel better soon, Mabel. You are such a sweet girl to check on him and bring your Mama back a pressie every time you come back to bed!

You are a sweetheart for keeping tabs on your dad and bringing back toys so your mom will discover them the next morning, Mabel!
ReplyDeleteThe Night Nurse....
ReplyDeleteMaybe that is your way of letting Mom know how many times you did a good deed, and maybe hope that she pays you with at least one treat per toy:)

How precious, Mabel. So are the stuffies a way of keeping count? A way of telling your Mom how many times you checked on your Dad? Or do you just figure there's now plenty of room for them? No matter the reason, you are a loving and good girl.
ReplyDeleteWe hope that your dad is feeling better. I think bringing Mom a toy is always a great idea. She might want to play some midnight fetch. BOL!
